Responsibility
Café Don Paco as part of its corporate social responsibility works hand in hand with Fundacion Almori to bring relief to the poor and underprivileged specifically in the field of education and survival (health, shelter, food, humanitarian aid).
Café Don Paco also works to preserve the environment and ensuring a sustainable development in our communities, but also in our micro, small and medium sized growers and suppliers. Furthermore, we have a strict no-tolerance policy regarding child labor.
Within this scope, we predetermine funds from the company as well as from our clients to promote projects in sensitive areas to foster a continuous improvement in the quality of life of all of those that we touch. We focus our purposes to benefit communities and the society of Nicaragua.
The projects that have been implemented show tangible results:
-
Providing access to training programs and sponsoring participation in local and international coffee fairs and competitions.
Training teachers, supplying didactic materials to schools and students and rebuilding and or improving schools’ infrastructure as well as latrines in the communities where we have our coffee farms
Mentoring small business such as coffee shops
Environmental campaigns to make effective use of natural resources, prevent pollution and minimize negative environmental side effects
Reforestation programs, planting and incorporating tree species on our coffee farms and surroundings
Waste management creating organic fertilizer using compost and worm compost
Providing health insurance and medical center for our staff and their families
Generating eco energy in our farms
We also encourage a culture of volunteerism among the staff and our customers, since we believe that we all have a social obligation to make a better world.
